Most examination applicants can now apply directly to Continental Testing Services in order to be scheduled for examination.
ALL CANDIDATES MUST APPLY TO NCEES AS WELL AS CONTINENTAL TESTING SERVICES
ALL CANDIDATES MUST READ THE NCEES Examinee Guide AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THEIR NCEES ID, AND DISCIPLINE SELECTION.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ALLOWED THREE (3) ATTEMPTS WITHIN A ONE YEAR TESTING PERIOD.
PLEASE NOTE THAT NCEES HAS THEIR OWN DEADLINE AND THAT THAT DEADLINE IS NOT THE SAME AS CONTINENTAL TESTING SERVICE'S DEADLINE. NCEES REQUIRES A FEE OF $225.00 DUE AT THE TIME OF NCEES REGISTRATION. NCEES REGISTRATION IS OPEN YEAR ROUND.
CTS IS UNABLE TO CHANGE YOUR DISCIPLINE SELECTION. YOU MUST CONTACT NCEES TO CHANGE YOUR DISCIPLINE. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE.
Effective with the computerized testing of the Fundamentals of Engineering and Fundamentals of Surveying, an unofficial grade will be posted by NCEES to your record. The official grade letter will be sent to the candidate by CTS after the grades have been reviewed.
Undergraduates applying for examination must be a Senior in an ABET-EAC (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology-Engineering Accreditation Commission) approved program for their BS degree with an expected graduation date of less than one year from the date of examination in order to apply for examination.Undergraduate Seniors MUST SUBMIT AN OFFICIAL SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT providing proof of their current enrollment in an ABET-EAC accredited program.
Graduates applying for examination must submit an official school transcript from an ABET approved program for their BS degree in order to be scheduled for examination. These Transcripts must be mailed to CTS.You can check to see if your program is ABET accredited at ABET Accreditation All programs must be ENGINEERING ACCREDITATION COMMISSION PROGRAMS and not to be confused with TAC-TECHNOLOGY ACCREDITATION COMMISSION programs. If your program is TAC accredited, you must apply directly to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations for approval.
Applicants applying for examination who have gone to an Illinois ABET approved program for their BS degree should select their school for the school code section of the application. Applicants applying for examination who have gone to a school outside of Illinois should select the school code for ABET Engineering Program for the school code section of the application.
Applicants applying for examination who have NOT gone to an ABET approved program for their BS degree should apply directly to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation for approval.
All Graduate applicants approved for examination by Continental Testing Services must apply to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation upon passing the examination in order to receive a license.
All Undergraduate applicants approved for examination by Continental Testing Services must submit an official transcript verifying graduation for their BS degree along with payment to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation upon graduation and passing the examination in order to receive a license.
If you have previously applied to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation for approval prior to registering with Continental Testing Services and your application is not over three years old at the time of the examination, you will not need to submit another application to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
